Pleasure Coach & Sex Educator
My teaching is focused on conscious, mindful sexuality, consent and communication, and Tantra. I am certified as a practitioner of Urban Tantra, a certified Sex Educator, and a student of Somatic Sex Education. I also have a Master’s degree in Gender Studies. I am a lifelong student, and my training continues with teachers from around the world so that I can deepen my practices and build my teaching toolkit.
How I got here
My teaching path started with cooking and wellness. For 10+ years I have taught plant-based cooking and fermentation classes in Hawaii and California. Holistic nutrition and food will always be a passion of mine, and I see a strong connection between these two fields of interest! I believe that when we learn to trust ourselves and our intuition—and learn how to deeply nourish ourselves with food and pleasure, this puts us on a path to holistic wellness.
If you scroll back in time on my Instagram feed, you’ll find tons of great vegan recipes, and you can see my food blog linked in navigation above! 🥗
My Values & Ethics
I’m a queer, polyamorous, cis-gender white women, and while these particular labels & privileges inform my worldview, in my work I strive to create safe enough (safer) spaces for learning for all humans. All relational dynamics, sexual orientations, and gender expressions are welcome. I donate a portion of my proceeds to local, BIWOC feminist organizations.
Openness & Transparency
This work can be hard! Most of us have been shamed by sex-negative cultural, religious, and social dynamics. Working together, we’ll explore what’s most interesting, important, and powerful for you in this moment, and we’ll unwind some of the cultural narratives that negatively impact our relationships.
Pleasure = Power
We’re not going to be able to overthrow the patriarchy if we’re not tapped into our PLEASURE. Pleasure, desire, and sexual energy is power, and it can be cultivated to help us do good in the world. Reclamation of our inherent right to pleasure and joy within our bodies is an act of rebellion in a world that tells us female/femme/queer bodies are not worthy of pleasure.
Learnings & Certifications
Urban Tantra founder Barbara Carrellas teaches us that “ecstasy is necessary.” I read Barbara’s book, Urban Tantra: Sacred Sex for the Twenty-First Century, about six years ago, and it’s one of the foundational texts that informs my work and my teaching ethos. I attended the Urban Tantra Professional Training Program in April 2022.
I became a certified Sex Educator with the Everyone Deserves Sex Education program founded by Anne Hodder-Shipp with a host of amazing educators. EDSE was my program of choice as it’s LGBTQIA-inclusive, anti-racist, and trauma-informed.
