Maui County Ag Fest: (April 2 2011, Waikapu)
This is a chance to experience the bounty of Maui- all day long! The feature this year is cole crops, which includes my favorites:kale, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, and many others. There will be a farmers market, The Grand Taste Education where you can sample Maui’s bounty prepared by the fancy chefs, food booths, gardening demonstrations and advice; there is also a Wellness Tent, where yours truly will be there representing Down to Earth. We will be demonstrating how to use these abundant Maui crops in a variety of easy meals: Raw Kale Salad with Mac nut and Lemon dressing, Collard Wraps with Mac Nut pate, and a Rainbow Cabbage Salad made by Mama T, my team leader from Oahu. We will be hosting demonstrations at 11:30, 12:30, and 1:30. For a hint about what the Ag Fest is all about, check out this article from Edible Hawaiian Islands.
Hope to see you there!
